Sports festival distributes the 2nd standard for ad appearances for athletes at the Tokyo-Beijing Olympics

On the 3rd, the Korea Sports Association appeared in advertisements for the Korean national team participating in the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics and the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, and distributed uniforms and equipment guidelines for the second time.

The Athletic Association announced its first guidelines in February last year in accordance with the decision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to partially expand the scope of commercial activities of participants so that Olympic participants can increase their personal financial independence and improve their training environment.

With this measure, only official sponsors were allowed to appear in advertisements by Olympic participants (including athletes, leaders, and officials), but with prior approval, non-sponsors could appear in advertisements during the Olympics.

The Athletic Association explained that the Tokyo Olympics were postponed for one year in the aftermath of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), and that the IOC guidelines included the Beijing Winter Olympics, revising the squad guidelines and announced it for the second time.

Accordingly, if the participants of the Olympic Games receive prior approval, the regular period of the Olympics determined by the IOC (Tokyo Summer Olympics July 13-August 10, 2021, Beijing Winter Olympics January 27-February 22, 2022) You can appear in an advertisement.

You can also post a thank you message to individual sponsors through their social network service (SNS) only once during the Olympics.

Non-sponsors who wish to obtain prior approval must submit an application for approval to the Korea Sports Association by April 7 for the Tokyo Olympics and October 22 for the Beijing Winter Olympics.

Official sponsors can use national athletes competing in the Olympics for advertisements regardless of the period.

Official sponsors are the IOC, the Olympic Organizing Committee, and the Korean Sports Association, and non-sponsors are not official sponsors, but are companies that individually contract and support participants.

The Sports Association plans to announce on its website in March to recruit official sponsors to support the Korean national team for four years, including the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics, 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, and 2024 Paris Olympics.
