The moral hazard of the employees of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) was on the cutting board due to the 3rd new city speculation.

LH held a Disciplinary Personnel Committee on the 11th and announced that it had dismissed Mr. Oh, a member of the Uijeongbu Project Group at the Seoul Regional Headquarters.

Mr. Oh was caught working as an instructor for land auction and auction on a paid lecture site related to real estate investment, and has been under internal audit since the end of January.

LH explained that through data investigations and in-person investigations, it was confirmed that Oh’s misconduct, such as receipt of compensation through profit-making activities and violation of restrictions on concurrent employment, and proceeded with disciplinary proceedings.

Mr. Oh promoted himself as’Korea’s No. 1 Land Lecturer’ and’Land Auction/Auction 1 Hit (No. 1 Sales) Instructor’, hiding his real name on the Internet and using his pseudonym.

The’Land Basics’ course, which Mr. Oh gave as a lecturer, was a five-month course, and the tuition was 230,000 won.

“The start of stable investment is land investment,” he said. “After understanding the land with 18 years of experience as a real estate investment company, we realized a lot of profits and invested in the land.”

However, it was confirmed that Oh’s working period was less than 18 years, and his career was also inflated.

LH is strictly forbidden to engage in other for-profit activities other than work in its corporate rules, but when the case of Mr. Oh became known, criticism arose that public company employees were promoting speculation while doing commercial activities as a side job.

LH said, “Employees who have committed misconduct that do not fit the duty of public officials will be punished according to the principle of zero tolerance after a thorough investigation.”
