The’Samrye Nara Super Case’ has emerged as a hot topic ahead of the National Assembly’s personnel hearing by Justice Minister Park Bum-gye. This case, which brought disgrace to candidate Park as a “judgment judge,” has been mentioned again as a “hearing risk,” although candidate Park met the victims in 2017 and even apologized.

In response, attorney Park Joon-young, who was in charge of the reconsideration of the case, posted a post on Facebook on the 31st and said, “I hope this case will not become an excessive political issue.

Attorney Park said, “One of the judges who convicted the three young men who had been imprisoned and misjudged was candidate Park Bum-gye,” and said, “The case is being re-argued due to the risk of hearing, and criticism that there is a judgment problem related to the misjudging. However, the people involved in the case, their families, the victims, and the bereaved are still paying attention to the fact that candidate Park made a meaningful apology.”

He said, “At that time, I asked for an apology from Candidate Park during the retrial process,” he said. “Even taking into account the fact that he was not the chief referee but the judge of distribution and did not see the record properly, and the circumstances of the settlement trial in 1999, “Because the fact that I was a judge is not light, there was a desire to show a responsible figure that fits the position of a public figure.”

“In the end, Candidate Park officially apologized after meeting the victims and youths who had been imprisoned on February 14, 2017. As a matter of fact, Candidate Park’s apology is meaningful in itself.”

He added, “I hope that the parties, the victims, and the bereaved family will not be overly politically controversial considering that candidate Park’s apology is meaningful and understands the part of candidate Park’s resentment.” He also emphasized that “this article was discussed with the parties to the case.”

“I want to stop talking about prosecution reform with a 20-year-old case”

At the end of the article, Attorney Park said, “I hope that the prosecutor’s fault that released the criminal 20 years ago will be linked to the current prosecution problem and stop talking about the reform of the prosecution.” It cannot be said that it is the same, and it is unfair to the members of the organization who are working silently to sell the whole by generalizing a specific case.”

The Samrye Nara Super case was a robbery murder case in Nara Super, Samrye-eup, Wanju-gun, Jeollabuk-do in 1999. At that time, three people were convicted and imprisoned, but after 17 years, the true offender appeared and was convicted through retrial. Rep. Park, who was the first judge at the time, met the victims of the nausea at the National Assembly in 2017 and apologized directly.
