Yoo Sang-cheol, who appeared in the video, announced his current state of health, saying, “I am much better than before.” Director Yoo Sang-cheol was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
Director Yoo Sang-cheol said, “It was my birthday that I did not forget. October 18. On October 19th, I had a game with Seongnam.”
“Since the 17th, the jaundice has not been severe. In Incheon, I went to the hospital with my team doctor, took an ultrasound, and the doctor told me to go to a large hospital. I thought it wasn’t big until then. He didn’t tell me the name of the disease. Even the team doctor couldn’t come in, and he only called me. “I thought this wasn’t weird,” he said. “Obviously, I didn’t believe it at the time just because I saw it. They said it was stage 4 pancreatic cancer.”
Regarding the situation after being diagnosed with cancer, Yoo Sang-cheol said, “It was difficult to manage my expression. It was too much for me to take for granted. What I had to do right now was a situation that shouldn’t be demoted, and the Seongnam game was important. After finishing the game, I tried to open it or do it. At that time, it was such a feeling.”
After being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, the Seongnamjeong game was played. Yoo Sang-cheol said, “What I said to the players is not to run for me, but for the fans who are on the field right now, the last gift you can make this year is winning our home. I told them to run hard for the fans,” he said. “When I see them at home, there are always a lot of fans. Even though he is the last, he comes a lot.” Of the fans who supported him, he said, “The director, please do your best,” he said is the most memorable thing.
Director Yoo Sang-cheol completed 13 anti-cancer treatments by June 2020 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer stage 4 in October last year. After that, until last September, the drug treatment began, and the results of MRI scans in September were found to have almost disappeared cancer cells.
Director Yoo Sang-cheol, who has regained his health enough to be able to do outdoor activities normally, is impressed by showing a strong appearance like the support of fans saying’Yoo Sang-cheol is strong.’
