[이데일리 김인경 기자] The head of the Export-Import Bank of Korea visited the Incheon metal press machine giant’Simpack’ to hear the grievances of the industry and promised support.

According to the Export-Import Bank of Korea on the 14th, Chairman Bang visited Simpack, which manufactures metal forming machines and alloy iron in Incheon on the 12th.

Simpac is a small and strong company with the largest domestic market share in the metal press machine manufacturing sector, which supplies a variety of products to the metal processing industry such as automobile manufacturing and aerospace. Using Mercury’s policy financing as a foothold, Simpac is preoccupying the global press market by exporting 12 million dollars worth of products to JBM, India’s leading auto parts company.

Mercury provided a policy fund of 58 billion won last year when the downstream industry contracted due to a novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), and Simpac suffered difficulties.

Simpac CEO Choi Jin-sik said, “Fortunately, the front industry is showing a recovery trend, and financial support for securing overseas raw materials is necessary to prepare for the increase in customer demand.”

In response, Mr. Bang said, “We will do our best to ensure that small and medium-sized companies overcome the crisis caused by Corona 19 and provide financial support for re-leaping exports in a timely manner.

Mercury plans to utilize all-round financial programs such as loans, guarantees, and investments to help SMEs and mid-sized companies strengthen their export competitiveness and advance into the global market. In order to establish a customer-oriented support system, Mercury established the Small and Medium-sized Sales Department and the’Growth Support Team’, an organization dedicated to early export companies, in January.
