Direct room, regular remote work… “Avoid offline work”

Jikbang stops operating the headquarters office and eliminates offline work. It is a policy to proactively respond to digital transformation of the work environment by making non-face-to-face remote work at all times. This is how remote work started with Corona 19 has become a basic form of work.

Jikbang announced on the 9th that it will implement a non-face-to-face, digital-based’cloud working (remote work)’ system. Since Corona 19, it has been working from home in accordance with the government’s quarantine guidelines, but aside from this, it is planning to switch the basic working system to a non-face-to-face method.

The traditional offline work and office concept will be eliminated, and about 200 employees will work in the desired location. In addition, a direct room lounge is opened and operated for each base in the metropolitan area. If there is an outside work or offline event, it is packed into a space where employees can freely visit and use, and the existing headquarters office is also operated as one of the base lounges. Currently, the internal structure of the Jikbang headquarters office has changed to a lounge concept, and work is in progress to open a lounge for each base.

An official from Jikbang said, “There is no general office concept in Jikbang.” “Lounge is a new space different from the office, and it is also different from the concept of shared offices such as WeWork. It is a space where you can do offline programs or meetings, and you can think of it as a kind of airport lounge where employees can freely choose and work.”

In a non-face-to-face working environment, various online collaboration tools are used. Jikbang plans to conduct business through collaboration tools from video conferences to small conversations. It explains that it has a system that can digitize and manage all business-related data. Currently, Jikbang is using’Gather Town’, a virtual space video conferencing solution, including Zoom and Google Drive.

CEO Ahn Seong-woo said, “As a proptech company that presents a new direction in the real estate market, the working environment is also trying to lead to a digital transformation.” We will create an organizational system.
