Did 2·4 real estate measures leaked out?

Press release watermark insertion and severe warning
Like last year’s June 17th, it was pointed out that it could not be prevented

On the morning of the 4th, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Byun Chang-heum is giving a’briefing on plans to expand housing supply for 3080+ metropolitan areas’ in the auditorium of the annex of the government building in Jongno-gu, Seoul. News 1

Before the government announced the ‘2·4 real estate supply plan’, it was found that the press release leaked through real estate cafes and social network services (SNS) was shared. The government is in a position that it will seek legal responsibility by investigating how the data was leaked.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, and the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced a plan to expand the public-led 3080+ metropolitan area housing supply at 10 am at the government office in Seoul. This measure included the provision of 836,000 houses nationwide through the public direct implementation maintenance project and the urban public housing complex project.

Relevant ministries pre-distributed press releases to the media at 8:30 on this day, and set an embargo (deferral) until 10 am to prohibit the leakage of data.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport tried to prevent leakage through the media by engraving the names of press companies and reporters in watermarks on all pages of the press release. Ahead of this announcement, the Blue House placed a “warmpo” to punish public officials who leaked their countermeasures in advance.

However, from around 9 am, before the announcement on the day, the press release file was uploaded to real estate cafes on some Internet portals, and this was circulated on social media such as KakaoTalk group chat rooms.

The press release file that has spread to cafes so far does not appear to have a mark such as a watermark inserted in the press release distributed by the ministry to the media, so it is likely that it was leaked through government officials.

This is not the first time that real estate measures have been leaked in advance. When the June 17 real estate measures were announced last year, confidential data was leaked to the outside through online real estate cafes and single bond chat rooms, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced its policy of strict punishment.
