Hyundai Motor Company took corrective action (recall) of 77,000 Kona EVs manufactured from September 2017 to March last year as fires continued in Kona EV in October. The recall was carried out by updating the battery management system (BMS) and immediately replacing the battery if any signs of abnormality in the battery such as excessive cell-to-cell voltage deviation or rapid temperature change were found.
