Broadcaster and webtoon writer Kian 84, who satirizes on’soaring house prices’, released a webtoon that satirizes on giving up marriage.
On the 3rd, Kian 84 revealed the content of delivering a wedding invitation to acquaintances through the Naver webtoon “The King of Restoration” episode 332 (wedding invitation episode 2).
An acquaintance of Woo Gi-myeong said, “I gave up my marriage as well as the apartment. Marriage is a terrifying quest,” he said. “He said.
In the following scenes, realistic difficulties after marriage are described as monsters such as’double-income mon’,’freedom deprivation mon’,’real estate mon’,’health insurance mon’,’private education mon’,’parenting mon’, and’comparative mon’. This is presumed to be a scene taken from the monster of desire in the Netflix drama’Sweet Home’.
Accordingly, the protagonist, Woo Gi-myeong, said to the acquaintance, “Why not meet a capable woman who is pretty and has a good personality?” Then the acquaintance was angry, “Would such a woman come to me?”

Earlier, on January 26, Kian 84 described a satire on the surge in house prices in the new episode of’The King of Rehabilitation’ on the Naver Webtoon website on January 26th.
In the webtoon, the character did a delivery job without a day off to find a house and collected 5 million won, but in the meantime, the real estate price increased by 100 million won, which was frustrating.
In this episode, remarks such as “Hell doesn’t go from dying, but homeless reality is hell itself” and “Hope torture is hoping for a subscription to win.” In particular, Gian 84 included a scene where a character in a webtoon saw a scene where the house price rose more than 100 million won, and then his head hit the road and was broken.
Accordingly, some netizens criticized Gian 84, claiming that it reminds me of the so-called “daekaemun,” which means the enthusiastic supporter of President Moon Jae-in. On the other hand, some netizens defended Gian 84 by insisting on’freedom of expression’ over the content of the webtoon.
This is not the first time that Gian 84 has been controversial through a webtoon by criticizing the government’s current real estate policy.
In the webtoon that was released last October, there was controversy with the line reaching out for the full moon and saying, “Sometimes it’s amazing. Even if you work so hard, you can’t see the way to buy a house.” In this regard, netizens made various interpretations, such as whether they were criticizing the current government’s skyrocketing house prices indirectly through President Moon Jae-in’s nickname’Moon.’
