Deputy Prime Minister Hong Nam-ki “I am terrible at the outbreak of LH”

Official apology for alleged speculation in Siheung
Strict measures and recurrence prevention measures promised

The government officially apologized for allegations of land speculation in new cities of Gwangmyeong and Siheung by employees of Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH).

Hong Nam-ki, Deputy Prime Minister of Economy and Ministry of Strategy and Finance, held a meeting of real estate-related ministers at the Seoul Government Complex on the 7th and said, “As a responsible minister who takes charge of the economy and manages public institutions, I apologize.” Deputy Prime Minister Hong said, “I stood here today with a heart that is heavier than ever. Recently, he bowed his head, saying, “It is a disastrous feeling because an unpleasant thing has occurred in the public institution that is the most fair and strictly enforced on the site of the real estate policy.”

Deputy Prime Minister Hong said, “The government takes this situation very seriously. If the public sector loses trust due to deviating behavior, policy trust can be shaken, so the responsibility for deviation is very heavy. I think that is the least way to count the hearts of the wounded people.”

In the meantime, Deputy Prime Minister Hong decided to take zero-tolerance measures, such as request for investigation and disciplinary action, if speculation was confirmed in a joint government investigation in relation to the LH incident. In addition, it was decided to systematically prepare measures to prevent deviation and fundamental recurrence prevention measures. / Reporter Park Soon-won
