The US Democratic Party is on the verge of winning overwhelming victory in the Senate final ballot in Georgia, where two seats to decide whether to take over the Senate in the future.

According to Reuters on the 6th (local time), with 98% of the votes counting in progress, Democratic Rafael Warnock’s victory over active senator Kelly Loeffler was confirmed in one of the two constituencies.

Warnock, a Baptist preacher of Martin Luther King Jr. Church, has now overtaken the incumbent Republican senator and becomes the first black senator in history in the South.

In the rest of the electoral districts, Democratic Party candidate John Osoff got 50.2% of the vote, leading Purdue with 49.8% of the vote by a slight margin, so victory is strong.

Inside the Republican Party, it has already been argued that US President Donald Trump is responsible for Georgia’s defeat.

◇ Warnock victory confirmed, Osoff victory power: According to Edison Research, with most of the number of votes suspended overnight, Warnock outpaced Loeffler by 1.2 percentage points, or about 54,000 votes.

Osoff also surpassed Purdue by more than 16,000 votes. This slightly exceeds the difference of 0.5 percentage points, the criterion for determining whether to recount.

Major US media such as the New York Times (NYT) and CNN are also saying that it is likely that candidate Osoff will win the final victory.

If the Democrats take all the seats of the Georgian Senate, the Senate will be held by the Democrats. Both Republicans and Democrats will have 50 seats each, but the Senate chairman holding the casting boat is the Democratic Party’s vice president-elect Camela Harris.

This means that the Democratic Party will be able to gain the power to advance key policy goals, such as responding to Corona 19, raising taxes, and stimulating the economy, for US President-elect Joe Biden.

Although the Democratic Party had fewer seats than last year, the House also secured 222 seats, taking 11 more seats than the Republican Party.

If the Democrats take all the seats in the Georgian Senate, the traditional southern state that Republicans have ruled over the past decades will once again be painfully defeated by Republican President Trump.

If Georgia loses, everyone is responsible for Trump: Experts say the result could be interpreted as a political judgment by voters against President Trump, who refuses to admit a presidential defeat.

An election official in Georgia’s Republican Party criticized the previous day that Purdue and Loeffler would be responsible for President Trump if Senators lose the runoff vote.

According to The Hill, a media outlet for Congress, Georgia State Election Commissioner Gabriel Sterling also said in a broadcast interview that “this was entirely due to President Trump and his actions after the presidential election.”

President Trump continues to insist that Vice President Mike Pence has the authority to reject the electoral votes on the grounds of the unjust elections, and has been unable to abandon his regrets about overturning the election results.

However, Vice President Pence presides over the process of counting and presenting the electoral vote results, but its role is formal and has no authority to influence the results, such as rejecting the results.
