The Democratic Party is concentrating its efforts on L-City (LCT), a high-rise residential-commercial building in Busan, with 20 days left for the 4·7 Busan mayoral by-election.
Visiting Busan on the 17th, Lee Nak-yeon and Kim Tae-yeon, the permanent chairman of the Democratic Party’s Central Seondae Committee, demanded a’L City special prosecutor’ and pushed the Busan Mayor Park Hyeong-jun, the power of the people, with a fierce pressure. Tae-nyeon Kim, who first spoke at the central election committee meeting held at the Busan Democratic Party, pressed the opposition party to accept the LH special prosecutor as well as the L City special prosecutor. “As much as real estate speculation using internal information of public officials, governmental lobbying and preferential pre-sale for construction permits should also be pursued.” He mentioned the contents of the L-City case in which a key member of the former government was arrested, he said, “But the prosecution was acquitted of 41 people in accusations of preferential sales by civic groups, and this time, a preferential list containing more than 100 influential people appeared.” .
Chairman Kim Tae-nyeon suggested that “there is no reason for the opposition party to disagree with the investigation of the truth of the L-City preferential sale.” The LH crisis also touched the public sentiment, which is sensitive to real estate. He criticized, “It would be a shame for the common people to buy apartments worth over 2 billion won side by side and expect a whopping 4 billion won in market profits in less than a year.”
Remarks by Chairman Lee Nak-yeon that he would correct the controversy over LH land speculation included the investigation of the’L City suspicion’.
