Democratic Assemblyman Yoon Seok-yeol, who resigned, “Shepherd Prosecutor” “The 2nd Hwang Gyo-an”

When Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol resigned, opposing the establishment of the Severe Criminal Investigation Office and the separation of the right to investigate and prosecute, the Democratic Party lawmakers who submitted the bill simultaneously criticized “shepherd prosecutors” and “trust shakes from the roots.”

Members of the Democratic Party, together with Hwang Unha, co-sponsored the bill on the establishment and operation of the Severe Crime Investigation Office, and each of them resigned through their own Facebook pages after Yoon resigned. This bill transferred the investigative power of the prosecution to the Severe Crime Investigation Office, where only six serious crimes could be directly investigated from January 1 of this year due to the adjustment of the investigative power, and the prosecution was actually only able to prosecute. Including General Yoon, the prosecution caused a backlash.

Rep. Jang Kyung-tae criticized Yoon as “the worst political prosecutor in history, saying no, no, but in the end a shepherd prosecutor.” Rep. Chang said that the constitution, the Prosecutors’ Office Act, and the Prosecutors’ Code of Ethics should keep the prosecutor’s political neutrality, but Yoon said he was not free from the political neutrality controversy throughout his term. He evaluated that he has continued his political progress, including recording approval ratings as opposition candidates.

In particular, during the disciplinary phase in December of last year, President Yoon emphasized the independence of the prosecutors and offered to fill his term of office until the end, but was also criticized for leaving his term of office for 142 days and shouting’justice and liberal democracy’. Rep. Jang pointed out, “I turned over and overturned my remarks and actions by myself. Depending on the situation, my words easily change as I am comfortable.” He criticized Yun as “using the position of prosecutor-general to fulfill his personal political ambitions, and he was a shepherd prosecutor who lied and was the worst political prosecutor.” He also urged that even if he threw away from the post of president, he should be self-confident about why the prosecution reform is necessary.

Rep. Kim Yong-min, a member of the National Assembly Legislative Judiciary Committee, who jointly proposed the bill, commented, “The credibility of the political case that politician Yoon Seok-yeol has investigated will be shaken from the root.”

In a post written on Facebook, Rep. Min Hyung-bae compared the resignation of President Yoon on that day, saying, “The reform of the prosecution has reached a high level of’management separation’ rather than an awkward multi-cooperative plan,” and said, “President Yoon’s contribution was very large.” Rep. Min wrote, “President Yoon, who showed the reason for the reform of the prosecution with his whole body, is now leaving his position and walking toward the wilderness.”

Rep. Kang Deuk-gu, who co-sponsored the bill, looked at the statements of President Yoon’s resignation and wrote, “In fact, it is a declaration to advance into the political world,” and “I feel that the time of resignation and even the statement of admission are thoroughly prepared in advance.” Rep. Kang said, “I feel that the presidential election is starting faster than I thought in earnest,” and “I welcome the choice and hope to go your way now. The last choice is the people’s responsibility.”

The only other party member, Choi Kang-wook, the Open Democratic Party representative also jointly proposed. Rep. Choi said, “The resignation of a public official who was engaged in political activities. Exit from political prosecutors consistently due to fluid escape. “The emergence of a reckless ambitious politician” praised Yoon’s resignation.

The Dongdo Democratic Party, which has refrained from official stance until rebelling against the bill, by interviewing with the Kookmin Ilbo and JoongAng Ilbo successively and remarking in Daegu, announced a brief briefing immediately after Yoon resigned. Democratic Party spokesman Huh Young said at a press conference at the National Assembly that afternoon, “What I gained is the stigma of the’political prosecution’ and what I lost was the value of the’people’s prosecution’. “It turned out that the inauguration of President Yoon, who said he would do uninterrupted reform, was a lie.”

Spokesman Huh said, “President Yoon Seok-yeol, who says that he is not loyal to people, has been loyal to a power agency called the’prosecutors’ and has wrapped it with fairness and justice.’ “The prosecution’s’selective justice’ and’selective investigation’ are’living “Investigation of power,” and the prosecution’s “covering my family” as “killing Yun Seok-yeol,” he interpreted, demonstrating the power of the political prosecution.” He predicted, “Now, it is only Yun’s own responsibility to see how politician Yoon Suk-yeol will be evaluated.”

In addition, Democratic Party lawmaker Woo Won-sik also made a personal comment and criticized “Is Yun Suk-yeol going to become the second Hwangkyo bill?” Rep. Woo said, “It’s a statement of resignation and is no different from a declaration of political initiation.” Rep. Woo pointed out, “There has been no such president in the history of the prosecution until now.” He added, “I will play the role of the National Assembly for uninterrupted reform so that it can be reborn as a prosecution for the people, not just prosecutors representing the prosecution.”
