[엑스포츠뉴스 김현세 기자] In relation to the controversy over the’fan inspection’ between Kiwoom Heroes and Lee Taek-geun, the KBO ruling is likely to pass at least this week.
KBO held a reward and punishment committee on the 22nd and tried to decide whether or not to be disciplined in relation to the controversy, but Kiwoom demanded a vocation and announced on the 23rd that it will “deliberate a little more”. First, until today on the 24th, the disciplinary action was not decided. Since there are holidays this week, including Christmas, a conclusion is expected to come at least next week.
A KBO official said,’It is unlikely that my conclusion will come out this week’, and’the governor is trying to clarify and judge. This is a matter that must be based on regulations and a detailed review of legal issues, he said.
This problem was revealed in June of last year when a fan reported a video to the media saying that Heo Min, chairman of the board of directors, threw the ball against a player from Kiwoom Futures team. In this regard, Lee Taek-geun said that the club tried to find a fan by checking CCTV, and that the instruction has also been given to him.
Kiwoom refuted, saying, “It’s different from the facts,” but the controversy spread even more when Lee Taek-geun released a recording of the call with the club manager. Lee Taek-geun sent a request for disciplinary action to the KBO in November this year saying that Kiwoom should be disciplined for damage to dignity.
Kiwoom has been entangled with controversy this season. In March of this year, there was a controversy over’outdoor management’ related to former CEO Jang-seok Lee, and the same year’fan inspection’ controversy was also engulfed. As governor Jung Un-chan, who is approaching his term of office, he believes that he will do a clear solution to what KBO can do. An official from KBO said,’There is a meaning that the governor wants to finish the term clearly.
