‘Dead Gumi Girls’ Obstetrics and Gynecology Department

The police investigating the death of a 3-year-old girl who died after being left alone in a villa in Gumi, Gyeongsangbuk-do, is known to have confirmed the circumstances in which her mother, Seok-mo, 48, changed her child at the obstetrics and gynecology department.

Initially, the police determined that Seok had changed the child when his daughter, Kim Mo (22), took care of herself at home after giving birth, but the result of checking the birth record at the obstetrics and gynecology department believes that the crime situation was achieved in the obstetrics and gynecology department.

The Gumi Police Department investigating this case confirmed the medical records at the A obstetrics and gynecology clinic in Gumi, where Mr. Kim gave birth, and confirmed that the blood type of the newborn Kim gave birth was type A. However, Type A is a child who cannot be born between Kim and her ex-husband, Hong Mo. This is because Kim’s blood type is B type and Hong’s is AB type.

Accordingly, the police believe that Suk took the child he had given birth to the hospital and replaced it before blood loss. It was revealed that the girl who died, originally known as Kim’s daughter, was not a child of the Kim couple in genetic (DNA) tests as well as blood type.

As the obstetrics and gynecologist reported that the child was replaced, this case raises another question. In the newborn room, which is a space where outsiders are completely restricted, it is how Ms. Suk was able to change children, whether there was no helper in the hospital, and whether the two mothers and daughters conspired to commit crimes with each other. As the newborn is type A, this child is also believed to have been caused by Kim’s affair. It is a topic that raises suspicion that Mr. Seok replaced the child with his own child in order to hide the child caused by Mr. Kim’s affair. Hong also backs up the suspicion by stating, “I heard a story that the child’s bracelet was broken at the hospital” in a police investigation. However, Hong said, “When I was born, I took pictures and watched them all the time, but I didn’t know if my child changed.” In the midst of this, Seok is still denying her childbirth, and Kim is also stating that “I didn’t know that my mother had changed the child.” The identity of Kim’s daughter and father, who disappeared after being swapped in the hospital, are still in question.

An official from the police said, “We cannot explain in detail about the blood type and the time and place of the child change as the investigation is currently underway.”
