Research shows that people over 65 who once had a new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) are at higher risk of getting it again.

According to the British newspaper Guardian on the 18th (local time), the Danish Statense Serum Research Institute released a study that showed that the inhibition rate of reinfection was about 80% for at least 6 months after being cured from Corona 19 for those under the age of 65. On the other hand, for those over 65 years old, the rate of inhibition of reinfection was only 47%, the institute said.

Dr. Sten Edelberg of Statense Serum Research Institute said, “Young and healthy people rarely get reinfected with Corona 19, but the risk of re-infection is higher in older people,” he said. “It shows that measures to protect the elderly are important.” Said.

The results of this study were published in the recent issue of the medical journal’Lancet’.

Professors Rosemary Boyton and Daniel Altman of Imperial College London in the United Kingdom wrote in the journal, “The reinfection inhibition rate is generally only 80% and drops to 47% among people over 65 years old is more worrisome than previous studies. It was interpreted as “a shame”. “Vaccination is the only permanent solution,” he said.
