Daewoo E&C promotes subsidiary Daewoo ST’Prugio New Brand’… Do you pursue supply policy?

While it is expected that the Daewoo ST brand will be used for the government’s small-scale housing construction business, the industry is interpreting that Daewoo E&C believes that Daewoo E&C has entered into a full-fledged attack on’government-led supply policy’.

According to the construction industry on the 10th, Daewoo ST recently applied for trademark rights in Korean and English for’Ballard’ and’Unique’ as brand names. In fact, it is Daewoo ST’s first self-built brand.

The brand name is planned to combine and utilize Daewoo E&C’s representative apartment brand’Prugio’, ballad, and Uni-U. Daewoo ST is already introducing a residential space named’Prugio Ballad’ through its homepage.

According to Daewoo E&C, the Prugio Ballad and Prugio Uni-U will be used in maintenance projects such as the construction of small houses with 500 or less households and the street housing business.

Previously, Daewoo E&C merged Daewoo ST with Prugio Services in August of last year to establish Daewoo ST with a 100% stake. In addition, Daewoo E&C expanded its business field by adding real estate development business. This was to respond through subsidiaries for small-scale business proceedings that had not been low in business.

A representative from Daewoo E&C said, “We believe that it is inefficient to promote the business in terms of low profitability compared to manpower and cost for small complexes. We plan to do this through Daewoo ST’s brand. “The plan has not been decided.”

Related industries believe that Daewoo E&C is expanding its small-scale business sector in relation to the government’s public-led supply policy through its subsidiary.

The government announced the’Gongkong-led supply policy 3080+’, which plans to supply 836,000 households nationwide by 2025. Of these, 110,000 households are eligible for small-scale maintenance projects.

Although the supply scale is not small, it is difficult for large construction companies to enter the business due to low business performance and various regulations. Among them, Daewoo ST’s entry into the business, under the brand name of’Prugio’, which is highly recognized, is evaluated to be more competitive than other small and medium-sized construction companies.

Daewoo E&C’s president Kim Hyung also expressed his willingness to expand business by saying, “We will expand our business based on profitability, excluding orders for quantitative growth only.”

In addition, an analysis is raised that the image of Daewoo E&C, which ranked first in the private housing supply performance last year, can have a positive effect even before the order for the supply policy. Daewoo E&C ranked first by selling 33,148 households last year.

The government’s small-scale maintenance projects are implemented by the construction company according to the consent of the landlord based on the principle of private self-regulation. Although it has not yet been specified, Daewoo ST can have an indirect effect as the recent business performance and construction capability ranking of the construction companies that participated in the order will be the evaluation factors.
