It was revealed that the unlicensed educational facility (IEM International School) of a religious organization in Daejeon, where 132 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) were found, did not take proper measures for more than 10 days after the first symptoms appeared.

Isolation of dormitory without examination or treatment
Mix with other students and take classes

In addition, it was found that the quarantine rules were ignored, such as allowing up to 20 people to live in one dormitory room.

According to the Central Defense Response Headquarters on the 25th, the number of new corona19 patients increased by 437 as of 0 o’clock on the day.

As an outbreak of group infection broke out at IEM International School, the number rose to 400 again.

According to the city of Daejeon, it was on the 12th that the first bequest box appeared at the IEM International School run by IM Mission. Until last weekend, the number of students with suspicious symptoms increased to six. However, the school only quarantined the dormitory instead of examination or treatment.

All I had to do was contact the student’s parents and take him home on the 23rd to be tested. There was no preemptive action by the school until the two students who went home were confirmed on the 24th. In the meantime, the students with the symptoms were mixed with other students for at least 10 days.

Because of this, 6 confirmed cases were added in Daejeon on the 24th, and 124 were confirmed through a full test. Only 112 students were confirmed, or 93.3% of the total 120. There are 20 faculty members.

Students lived with as few as 7 students and as many as 20 students per dormitory room. There were no partitions for each seat in the restaurant. The quarantine authorities are planning to investigate whether the quarantine rules are violated and take action according to the law.

In addition to IEM International School, IM Mission operates 23 educational facilities across the country, including TCS and CAS. Among them, the quarantine authorities are planning to conduct a thorough investigation of facilities nationwide with confirmed cases such as Joseph TCS International School in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do.
