The 4·7 Seoul Mayor’s by-election came one day ahead. In particular, the opposition parties are fighting fiercely over the election of the mayor of Seoul, which is evaluated as a’presidential preliminary war’, which is an election that elects the head of the administration of the capital of the Republic of Korea.

The keyword triggered in the election battle has become a friendly word nationwide beyond Seoul. Some of these will lead to prosecution and accusations, and it is expected that even the next presidential election will be talked about in the politics.

◇ Real estate speculation from LH

In early March, a suspicion of former and current LH employees using the internal government to speculate on the land of the third new town arose, and the issue of real estate speculation by public officials was at the center of this election.

President Moon Jae-in, the government, and the Democratic Party along with the Democratic Party bowed their heads over the incident and stiffened Minister Byeon Chang-heum of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

Eventually, the speculation from LH became widespread by the politicians’ suspicion of real estate speculation. All kinds of real estate suspicions by lawmakers of the ruling and opposition parties, whose facts are unclear, have risen to the surface.

◇Narrow Nambul

In particular, public opinion aggravated as the issue of raising the rent of the ‘naro-nambul’ style of passport officials at the end of the elections arose.

Democratic Party lawmaker Park Joo-min, who led the ‘3 Lease Act’, such as limiting the rent increase rate to 5% when the rent to cheonsei was renewed in July last year, was known to have raised the rent of apartments by 9% just before the 3rd Lease Act passed the National Assembly.

Kim Sang-jo, former head of the Blue House Policy Office, was also immediately stiff after it was known that he had raised the rental price by 14% before the 3rd Lease Act passed the National Assembly.

As’Naero Nambul’ became the main expression of attacking the Democratic Party, the Central Election Commission has reached the point of restricting its use for non-election campaigns, such as voting encouraging banners.

Encouraging voting with phrases such as’voting wins the South’ is the reason that it is an act that affects elections because it can infer a specific political party.

◇Naegok-dong

Naegok-dong, located in Seocho-gu, Seoul, has emerged as a familiar place name nationwide. It started with a controversy over the’self-compensation’ that Oh Se-hoon received a compensation of 3.65 billion won when the land owned by his wife and wife and wife was lifted from the Green Belt during his tenure as Mayor of Seoul.

When the suspicion of the passport was raised, Candidate Oh clarified that he “did not know at all,” but the fact that he filed his property report as a member of the National Assembly in 2000 was revealed, leading to another suspicion. Candidate Oh’s side refutes that the nature of the speculation of the land in Naegok-dong is whether it has exerted an unreasonable influence, and that the suspicion of the passport is defined as’negative’ and is “not the essence.”

◇’Ecological bath’ and’Ferragamo’

The controversy in Naegok-dong unexpectedly led to the promotion of ecological baths and luxury brand Ferragamo. It is because of the testimony that Candidate Oh stopped at an ecological bathhouse near Naegok-dong after completing the survey in Naegok-dong in June 2005. The testimony was revealed in the media by the owner of the ecological bath restaurant and his son.

The president and his son described Oh’s attire, saying, “The plain white cotton pants and shoes were casual loafers. They were pretty cool shoes. Ferragamo.”

Based on this argument, the Democratic Party launched an offensive that the candidate Oh knew the existence of the earth early and that he had to resign from the candidate position as he had made false claims so far. Candidate Oh is in the position that this claim is not true. The son of the president of the ecological house, who foretold the press conference on the 5th, suddenly canceled the press conference and became controversial.

In addition, the Democratic Party’s Opposition Candidate Verification Task Force (TF) team held a press conference at a housing district in Naegok-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 21st, and urged the resignation of Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, who is suspicious of’self-compensation’. 2021.3.21/News1 © News1 Reporter Shin Woong-soo

◇MB

MB (former President Lee Myung-bak) who is in prison also appeared. Candidate Oh has come up with a real estate policy centered on reconstruction and redevelopment, and Candidate Park criticized this as MB Season 2. Candidate Oh’s photo of eating soup was also criticized as MB Avatar. Unfortunately, Candidate Oh succeeded in unifying with the National Assembly representative Ahn Cheol-soo, who experienced a drop in approval ratings with his remarks as MB Avatar.

In response, Candidate Oh checks candidate Park as Park Won-soon Season 2. At the same time, he attacked as Moon Jae-in’s avatar. It was aimed at Candidate Park under the judgment that the public sentiment of the metropolitan area is flowing to the’political judgment theory’ due to real estate problems.

◇2030

Candidate Park and Candidate Oh focused on the 2030 generation, the biggest match. Even at the campaign site, the competition for support of the youth ignited.

In particular, in the case of Candidate Oh’s campaign site, an average of 20 2030 voters per day are raising their voices.

It is interpreted as a change due to the rising anger against the government and ruling party of 2030 generations due to the’unfair’ controversy and the problem of real estate and education gaps that have risen in the Moon Jae-in administration.

Candidate Oh was thrilled at the youth site, saying, “I think it’s like a dream to start receiving support from the youth in 2030.”

Considering the presidential election next year, the opposition party should take this opportunity to change the regime, and the ruling party should somehow bring them back to achieve the re-creation of the regime.

The changed votes of the 2030 generations, who were friendly to the Democratic Party-affiliated parties in the past, have increased the likelihood that they will emerge as a major variable not only in the re-election but also in the next presidential election.

Candidate Park tried to woo young people with a different intensity than in the past, such as focusing on youth pledges such as supporting youth transportation expenses and providing data vouchers, and focusing on areas where many youths gather.

◇ Complainant

The late Mayor of Seoul Park Won-soon and former Mayor of Busan Oh Geo-don also spread responsibility. On March 17, former Mayor Park victim of sexual harassment held a press conference and criticized Democrats. Candidate Park Young-seon, who was cautious about expressing his position on the day, said his apology through Facebook that evening.

Nevertheless, controversy arose again in the Democratic Party by posting a Facebook post that seemed to cover former Mayor Park, including former presidential secretary Lim Jong-seok.

The fact that Rep. Nam In-soon, Jin Sun-mi, and Ko Min-jung, who called former Mayor Park sexual harassment victims as “victims,” took over the positions of Park Young-seon’s camp also contributed to the opposition party’s offensive.

Despite worsening public opinion, they put down their camp positions, but the ruling party had to suffer from the opposition party’s “affected person” offensive for a while.
