Cyworld, which is promoting service resumption in May, announced on the 19th that the photo data stored by its members is safe, and that it plans to refund about 3.5 billion won worth of’Acorn’ (cyber money) to users.

Cyworld Jet, which took over the rights to operate Cyworld, announced through a press release that it had signed an agreement with SK Communications on the transfer of service data the day before.

Cyworld has been unable to access the server in SKT’s Internet Data Center (IDC) for 1 year and 5 months due to arrears of the company’s newsletter usage fee to SK Comms in the past. However, as the two sides agreed to transfer data, Cyworld’s restoration work also gained momentum.

They said, “We have confirmed that a database (DB) of 18 billion, including 17 billion photos, 150 million videos, and 500 million music sources, which were saved by 32 million members, has been preserved as it is.”
