Cricket, who closed the door of the Asan plant in Chungnam Province due to the outbreak of a new coronavirus infection (Corona 19), predicted that there will be no disruption in boiler supply for the time being. The boiler peak season has passed and the distribution center still has enough stock.

According to the quarantine authorities and local governments on the 16th, the number of corona19 confirmed at the Asan factory for cricket boilers has increased to 68 as of this day. At the Asan plant, on the 13th, one worker was first confirmed. Since then, additional confirmed cases are occurring by examining close contacts. Therefore, the quarantine authorities are waiting for the final result by conducting a thorough investigation of 632 all workers.

Cricket’s factory has been shutting down since the 15th, right after the Lunar New Year holiday. Operation may be suspended for up to two weeks, depending on the results of total inspection.

Accordingly, some are concerned that the shutdown of the Asan plant will disrupt the supply of boilers.

However, the company is in a position that there will be no problem for the time being because the factory has a dualization system and the distribution center stocks are still large. Kiturami is operating two domestic plants, Asan plant and Qingdao plant.

An official from Cricket said, “There are more than two weeks of supply in nine distribution centers and agencies nationwide. Even if the operation of the Asan plant is suspended for a while, there will be no disruption in supply.”

The current shutdown of the Asan plant has occurred after the boiler peak season, so the burden of waiting volume is light, which also relieves trouble. Boiler demand is concentrated from late autumn to December and is currently in the off-peak season.

On the other hand, Chungnam Governor Yang Seung-jo held an emergency press conference on this day and said, “Details must be revealed through accurate epidemiological investigations” regarding the group infection at the Asan plant. It is counted as one of the main causes of infection.”

He also pointed out that “the workshop is a large container system. It is a dense structure,” and that “there was a shared changing room and a bath, but ventilation was not good.”
