Through a video media briefing held on the 3rd (local time), Kovacs announced that it plans to deliver about 375 million doses of AstraZeneca-Oxford and Pfizer-Bioentech’s Corona 19 vaccine to 145 countries by the first half of the year.

Specifically, the AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine is expected to deliver 336 million doses in the first half of the year, and 1.2 million doses of the Pfizer-Bioentech vaccine in the first quarter.

Among them, Korea will receive at least 2.56,800 doses of AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine produced by SK Bioscience, and 117,000 doses of Pfizer-Bioentech vaccine. This is a total of 2,713,800 doses, which is about 1.35 million people considering the fact that these pharmaceutical companies’ Corona 19 vaccines must be vaccinated twice.

This is the minimum amount, and the number of vaccines to be delivered through COVAX can increase to about 4.38 million doses, depending on the production capacity of pharmaceutical companies.

COVAX is an international project for the joint purchase and distribution of Corona 19 vaccines led by the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Vaccine Immunization Association (Gavi), and the Infectious Disease Innovation Association (CEPI). It aims to distribute at least 2 billion doses of Corona 19 vaccine to each country within the year.
