Court notifies Ssangyong Motors “Review of early graduation when rehabilitation procedures begin”

For Ssangyong Motor, which is expected to enter the rehabilitation process due to a business crisis, it is believed that the court is aiming for early graduation from court management. This is from the perspective that there are many domestic companies willing to take over if Ssangyong Motor graduates from legal management early.

According to the automobile industry on the 4th, the Seoul Rehabilitation Court verbally informed Ssangyong Motors its position to review early graduation when it enters the corporate rehabilitation process. Usually, it takes more than 4 months to submit a rehabilitation plan, and it takes more than a year to complete the rehabilitation, but it is interpreted by the will to shorten it as much as possible.

The court compares the company’s continuing value and liquidation value to decide whether or not to initiate the rehabilitation process. When it is decided to commence the rehabilitation procedure, it goes through procedures such as reporting and investigating bonds and submitting a rehabilitation plan.

The court will decide whether to start the rehabilitation process for Ssangyong Motors as early as the 8th, at the latest next week.

The industry predicts that creditors will not want bankruptcy as the amount of public interest bonds that can be reimbursed regardless of the rehabilitation process reaches 370 billion won.

If Ssangyong Motor goes bankrupt, it is predicted that at least 15 business partners and 300 general purchasers, as well as employees, will go bankrupt. In this case, it is an analysis that the government will not be letting go of the hand as it is predicted that the number of unemployed will increase by 20,000.

Currently, Ssangyong Motor plans to continue negotiations for the acquisition. It is known that there will be three to four candidates, including Edison Motors, a domestic electric bus company, who are willing to take over Ssangyong Motor or have expressed their intention to take over.
