Coupang, which is about to be listed on the US stock market, said, “The grant of 100 billion won worth of stock to on-site workers also applies to daily workers who switch to regular workers.”

Through this, Coupang aims to convert about 3,000 daily workers into full-time by March 5. The scale of conversion varies by distribution center.

“This measure is an extension of the policy to encourage permanent workers,” Coupang explained.

Coupang did not disclose the size of the current daily jobs.

Earlier, as of March 5 this year, Coupang provided shares worth about 2 million won per person for free to Coupang delivery staff (Coupang friend), regular staff at the distribution center, and regular and contract workers at Coupang and its subsidiaries as of March 5 this year. Shares are paid 50% for one year from the date of receipt, and 50% for two years.

In a listing declaration file filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Coupang said, “It is a front-line employee to congratulate an important step in the company’s history (called U.S. stock market listing) and to acknowledge our dedication to our customers amid the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19). “We will give stocks worth up to KRW 100 billion to frontline workers and non-manager employees,” he said.
