The number of deaths related to the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) in Korea occurred as of 0 o’clock on the 29th. It is the record of the most deaths per day since Corona 19 entered Korea on January 20th.

On the 29th, the central quarantine countermeasure headquarters of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) reported 40 people as of 0 o’clock on that day, recording 859 deaths. The fatality rate was 1.42%. There were also 330 patients with severe gastric disorders, an increase of 35 from the previous day.

The number of deaths related to Corona 19 has been recorded in double digits every day since December. After recording 13 deaths on the 15th, it recorded double-digit deaths on the 15th.

This is a very large number considering that there were no more than 10 deaths per day during the first outbreak in Daegu and Gyeongbuk.

The cumulative death toll in the month of December was 333, more than five times that of 62 in November and 52 in October. Over a third of the total cumulative deaths 859 (38.8%) occurred in December.
