Corona vaccine in 12 major countries, one of three is AstraZeneca

As a result of analyzing the status of vaccines for novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) secured by 12 major countries, it was found that 1/3 of them were AstraZeneca vaccines.

In addition, Democratic Party lawmaker Shin Hyun-young analyzed data from the Ministry of Health and Welfare and disclosed the current status of securing corona vaccines by major countries such as the US, EU, and India.

According to Congressman Shin, the number of corona vaccines obtained in 12 countries including the United States amounted to about 5,060 million doses, of which the AstraZeneca vaccine was the largest, accounting for 1.85 billion doses, accounting for 36.6%. Next is ▲ NovaVax 1.29 billion dose, 25.4% ▲ Pfizer 620 million dose, 12.2% ▲ Sanofi-GSK 530 million dose, 10.5% ▲ Janssen 390 million dose, 7.7% ▲ Modena 3 It was 80 million doses, followed by 7.6%.

Rep. Shin said, “In the United States, which first approved Pfizer and Modena vaccines and started vaccination, Pfizer and Modena vaccines accounted for 20% of the total amount of vaccines secured. The EU accounted for 34% and the UK at only 15%.”

Congressman Shin said, “The reason for the low ratio of Pfizer and Modena vaccines is that the mRNA vaccine was approved first, but there is a limit to the actual production volume.” It is expected to be carried out through such as, and AstraZeneca has the largest amount of secured goods.”

Rep. Shin said, “There is a regret that it would have been good if Pfizer, modder, or vaccine had been obtained a little earlier, but there is a reasonable basis for the government’s judgment that has secured many highly stable vector vaccines such as AstraZeneca.”

Rep. Shin said, “If you look at the current status of securing vaccines in major countries around the world, you can see that not only Korea but also other countries are making similar judgments and preparations.”

Accordingly, Congressman Shin said, “It is important to secure vaccine quantities and sign contracts in the future, but there are many more important issues such as ▲ establishing a cold chain system and preparing vaccination institutions ▲ determining priority vaccinations ▲ preparing a medical response and compensation system in the event of an abnormal case. “When the vaccine actually enters Korea, the government as well as the opposition parties should work together to prepare conditions so that vaccination can be quickly, efficiently and stably.”
