In the two days of domestic vaccination of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) vaccine, 112 adverse reactions were reported. Considering that most of them are mild and the total number of inoculations is 2322, it is not very high at 0.5%. However, it is pointed out that the government needs to explain in more detail as it is a public concern and it is still in the early stages of vaccination.

According to the Central Defense Countermeasure Headquarters (Bang Dae-bon) on the 28th, 96 people reported adverse reactions after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine the day before. There was one adverse reaction to the Pfizer vaccine. There were 15 adverse reactions to the AstraZeneca vaccine reported on the previous day, the 26th. There were 111 cases related to AstraZeneca vaccine and 1 case related to Pfizer vaccine, totaling 112 cases. It is difficult to compare the two numbers simply because there are 22,22 AstraZeneca vaccines, but only 300 Pfizer vaccines.

The type of adverse reaction was a common mild case after vaccination, such as headache, fever, nausea, and vomiting. There was no’anaphylaxis’ (severe whole body allergic reaction) that was most concerned when inoculated. Dae-bon Bang said, “a mild case of headache, weakness, fever, nausea, and vomiting, which are common after vaccination.”

Experts also contributed to this interpretation. Eom Joong-sik, professor of infectious medicine at Gachon University Gil Hospital, said, “Considering that even in the case of general vaccines, the report rate of side effects of the vaccine, including mild, is at a level of 0.1~0.5%. Unlike other vaccines, the interest in the COVID-19 vaccine is so high that there may be relatively more reports of adverse reactions, so we still have to watch it a little more.”

Some point out that the government needs to explain more actively. Eun-mi Chun, a professor of respiratory medicine at Ewha Womans University Mokdong Hospital, said, “Corona 19 vaccination is a long race that lasts until November,” and said, “There are few adverse reactions, it is not just going to be said that it is minor. “We need to reassure the people by explaining in more detail.”
