Daejeon City announced on the 16th that it will start vaccination against the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) from nursing hospitals and facilities on the 26th.
The first vaccination targets in the Daejeon area are 7,000 residents and workers in high-risk facilities that are vulnerable to group infection and have a high fatality rate when infected.
In nursing hospitals, medical staff in the hospital are inoculating themselves, and in nursing facilities, vaccination teams are put in at public health centers and consigned medical institutions.
Subjects over 65 years of age are excluded until further clinical trial results for AstraZeneca vaccine are available.
Vaccinations for 12,500 health care workers at high-risk medical institutions and 1,000 Corona 19 responders are expected to be accelerated to mid-March.
Then, 3,500 medical personnel in the hospital dedicated to infectious diseases will receive the vaccine.
Subjects who receive vaccination from the 26th should receive the second vaccination in April, 8 weeks after the first vaccination.
The city operates one vaccination center for each autonomous district for Pfizer and Modena vaccines, which are more difficult to manage and inoculate than general vaccines.
General vaccines can be received at about 480 hospitals and clinics (consigned medical institutions) that have been vaccinated against the existing flu vaccine.
The city has selected Yuseong-gu Sports Center, which has excellent accessibility, vaccination space, and parking area, as the priority vaccination center.
First of all, in addition to the vaccination function, the vaccination center presents a model of 4 autonomous district vaccination centers scheduled to be installed in April to May, and is used as an educational and training place for related workers.
