The number of new coronavirus infections (Corona 19) in Korea reached 400 on the 23rd. While the Corona 19 situation is on the decline, no new corona 19 confirmed cases have emerged for the third day at correctional facilities nationwide.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that as of 0 o’clock on the 23rd, the number of new corona19 confirmed cases increased by 85 from the previous day (346) to 431. As a result, the cumulative corona 19 confirmed number has increased to 74692.

On this day, the infection route of new confirmed cases was 403 local outbreaks and 28 foreign inflows. However, as of 8 a.m. on that day, the number of confirmed corona19 at correctional facilities nationwide was 1261, and no additional confirmed persons have been added since the 20th. On this day, the correctional authorities entered the 12th total inspection of the employees and prisoners of the Eastern Detention Center. All members of the Dongbu detention center were negative in the 11th total inspection conducted on the 20th with 1,000 subjects. The quarantine authorities announced plans to normalize the operation of the eastern detention center if there are no more confirmed cases after two weeks have passed since the last confirmed case in the eastern detention center.
There were 9 deaths from Corona 19, a cumulative 1337. The average fatality rate in Korea is 1.79%. The number of patients with severe gastric disorders was 297, down 2 from the previous day. The number of new quarantine lifters was 629, a cumulative number of 62,044. Currently, 11,311 confirmed patients are undergoing quarantine treatment.

The number of corona 19 diagnostic tests conducted in Korea so far is 5.29,077. Of these, 51,18386 cases were negative. The remaining 136629 cases are waiting for the results. The number of tests per day the previous day was 40,748, which was 2866 more than the previous day (44,618). The positive rate, calculated as compared to the number of tests on the previous day, was 0.91% (431 out of 40,748). The cumulative positive rate as of 0 o’clock on this day was 1.40% (74,4692 out of 5,3297,073).
The quarantine authorities are planning to decide whether to adjust the current “social distancing” until the end of this month (Seoul Metropolitan Area 2.5, Non-Metropolitan Area 2) and the ban on private gatherings with more than 5 people, watching the trend of corona19 confirmed cases in Korea.
