“Corona 19 first responder vaccinated as early as the 7th”

The government has announced that it will start vaccinating the new corona 19 first responders as early as the 7th.

Jung Eun-kyung, head of the central quarantine countermeasures headquarters (Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) said, “Currently, we are working on determining the list of people who are eligible for (vaccination) for the first responder for Corona 19.” “We will confirm the target recipients, and we plan to ship the vaccine by the 6th,” he said.

He explained that “depending on the local health center’s vaccination preparation situation (though it will vary), we will start vaccination (for first responders) as early as the 7th of this month.”

The vaccine from AstraZeneca (AZ), which was first approved in Korea, has been inoculated to workers under the age of 65 and residents of nursing hospitals and facilities since the 26th of last month.

This month, first responders at the quarantine site, including health care workers at high-risk medical institutions and 119 paramedics and epidemiological investigation personnel, are scheduled to receive the first vaccination.

Some, but there are also first responders who have already been vaccinated using the remaining amount of the vaccine.

“As of now, we believe that both nursing hospitals and facilities, workers in high-risk medical institutions, and first responders, who are subject to vaccination from February to March this year, will all complete the first vaccination within this month,” said Jung.

Meanwhile, the quarantine authorities predicted that the medical staff at the Corona 19 patient treatment hospital who received the Pfizer vaccine from last month on the 27th will be able to proceed to the second vaccination within this month.

The Pfizer vaccine requires a total of 2 doses every 3 weeks.

“People who received (Pfizer vaccine) at the beginning of this month are expected to finish the 2nd vaccination in the last week of this month,” said Jung.
