The highway on the 14th, the last day of the Lunar New Year holiday, shows smooth traffic flows nationwide. However, congestion also appears in some sections from the afternoon when returning vehicles are concentrated.

According to the Korea Expressway Corporation on the 14th, cars are running at normal speeds on major highways across the country without significant congestion. However, in the afternoon, congestion appears in some sections in the direction of Gwigyeong.

A representative place where some congestion appeared after noon on this day is a section of the Gyeongbu Expressway. Some congestion occurred in the 2km section of the Gyeongbu Expressway in the Busan direction from Jamwon to Banpo, and in the 14km section from the Oksan Junction in the Seoul direction to near Mokcheon.

It is expected that it will take about 5 hours from Busan to Seoul toll booth on this afternoon. Compared to this morning, it was delayed by about 30 minutes. In addition, it is expected to take 3 hours and 30 minutes from Gwangju to Seoul, 4 hours from Daegu to Seoul, and 3 hours from Gangneung to Seoul.

The Korea Highway Corporation predicted that the congestion would peak around 3-4 pm on this day. After that, traffic congestion is expected to be resolved around 9-10 pm. On this day, the national traffic volume is expected to be 3.49 million units.

The average daily highway traffic for this Lunar New Year holiday is 4.32 million units, down 14.1% compared to last year’s New Year holiday.
