The police, who are investigating allegations of speculation by employees of Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) in Gwangmyeong and Siheung, Gyeonggi-do, have launched a search for seizure of six places including the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
According to the police on the 17th, the Special Investigation Team of Real Estate Speculation Crimes of the Gyeonggi Southern Police Agency dispatched investigators to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Government Sejong Government Complex from 10 am to secure documents and supplies related to the investigation. In addition to the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs, the search for seizure was conducted in six locations including LH headquarters in Jinju, Gyeongsangnam-do, and North Siheung Nonghyup.
This is the second time for the seizure and search of LH headquarters after the 9th. North Siheung Nonghyup is a place where loans to LH employees allegedly raised are concentrated. In particular, it is known that the police seizure search conducted on that day was aimed at confirming whether or not the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport had previously obtained information related to the new city in the process of purchasing land near the third new city by LH executives and employees who were suspicious of speculation.
According to the National Police Agency’s National Investigation Headquarters, as of this morning, there were 37 cases in which internal investigations and investigations were conducted in relation to the alleged real estate speculation, reaching 198 people. In just five days, the number of targets for internal investigation and investigation has doubled compared to the previous one. The targets of the investigation are known to be diverse, including LH executives and staff members, city and city lawmakers, public officials, public corporation employees, and civilians. The Special Investigation Headquarters is analyzing the data obtained through seizure and search at LH headquarters and the business headquarters in the metropolitan area on the 9th, and the Siheung City Council and Gwangmyeong City Hall on the 15th. An official of the Special Edition said, “We plan to summon and investigate the subject of investigation as soon as we finish analyzing the data.”
