Cohort quarantine (same group quarantine) measures were imposed at Hanyang University Hospital in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, where a new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) group infection occurred.
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government on the 30th, there were 27 confirmed cases of group infection related to Hanyang University Hospital as of 0 o’clock on the day. Of these, only 22 new patients were confirmed in one day on the 29th.
Of the 27 confirmed cases related to Hanyang University Hospital, 10 hospital patients, 2 staff, 8 caregivers, and 7 family members. They are all managed as patients with Seoul outbreak.
The group infection at Hanyang University Hospital was discovered when a family member of an inpatient was first confirmed on the 27th. The quarantine authorities have examined 213 people, including contacts, except for the first confirmed cases. Of these, 26 positive and 149 negative were found, and 39 of them have yet to obtain test results.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government has quarantined the 15th floor of Hanyang University Hospital where the patient occurred. In addition, an in-depth epidemiological investigation, investigation of the movement of confirmed patients, identification of contacts, investigation of the path of infection, and emergency quarantine disinfection are being conducted.

Group infections that occurred in the’Seoul Station Hope Support Center’ and’Seoul Station Emergency Shelter’, a homeless support facility in the Seoul Station Plaza in Jung-gu, are also spreading. As of 0 o’clock on the day, there were 42 cumulative confirmed cases of this group infection, of which 41 were managed as confirmed cases in Seoul, excluding one.
The first confirmed case was an employee living in Tasido, and it was confirmed on the 17th. The quarantine authorities have so far examined 303 people, excluding the first confirmed cases. Of these, 41 were positive, including one coworker and 40 homeless people using the facility. 242 tested negative, and the remaining 20 test results have not yet been released.
The city of Seoul is looking for the route of infection through an in-depth epidemiological investigation and is confirming additional contacts. It is also running a’visiting screening clinic’ for homeless people, encouraging them to undergo Corona 19 testing.
Meanwhile, the government is planning to announce the’social distancing’ adjustment plan to be applied from next week and whether to extend the ban on private gatherings with more than 5 people on the afternoon of the 31st.
