U.S. President Joe Biden drew attention on the first Sunday after his inauguration, on the 24th (local time), as a contrast with former President Donald Trump.
According to the Associated Press, President Biden and his family visited the’Saint Trinity’ church in Georgetown, Washington DC, to attend the noon mass. The Catholic U.S. president, Biden’s second visit after John F. Kennedy, and Biden’s vice president, also visited the cathedral. NBC broadcast, “Ex-President Donald Trump also attended services often, but his Sunday schedule was mostly golf clubs.” President Biden, who came out after staying in the church for 35 minutes, replied, “It was lovely” to the reporters asking what they felt. Citizens gathered on the street to see President Biden, and President Biden waved his hand and replied.
After Mass, a car line with President Biden and his family heading for the White House stopped in front of the bagel chain, Call Your Mother, in Washington, DC. The second son, Hunter, got off with an SS agent, waited for a few minutes, received the food, and got into the car again. The menu that Hunter ordered was known as sesame bagels and cream cheese. The store wrote on its Twitter account, “It was an unexpected Sunday. I am excited to have an administration that loves everything in Washington, DC. I hope you visit again.” It was a circumvention of former President Trump, who did not show the rash of finding a store in Washington DC. White House reporter Peter Baker of the New York Times (NYT) wrote on Twitter that “President Biden’s visit to a bagel shop is a big change.” As President Biden’s car parade left the store, citizens clapped and cheered.
