Chungju Mayor Jo Gil-hyung, full effort to attract members of the National Assembly and Hydrogen Safety Technology Institute

Chungju-si is making even more effort to build a hydrogen industry ecosystem.

Chungju City Mayor Jo Gil-hyung visited the office of Congressman Lee Jong-bae on the 27th and met with Congressman Lee Jong-bae to convey his firm determination to attract the Hydrogen Safety Technology Institute, and sought active support and cooperation.

The city announced last month’s five key industries for new growth in Chungju, led by the hydrogen industry, and is focusing its efforts on attracting the Korea Gas Safety Corporation’s Hydrogen Safety Technology Institute.

Korea Gas Safety Corporation was designated as a hydrogen safety agency with the establishment of the Hydrogen Economic Committee in July of last year, and launched the Hydrogen Safety Technology Institute in January of this year.

The safety of hydrogen is a social issue with the growth of the hydrogen industry. As the only organization in charge of hydrogen safety in Korea, the Institute of Hydrogen Safety and Technology conducts legal inspection of hydrogen charging stations and production facilities, and safety monitoring of charging stations.

In addition, it conducts safety inspections on hydrogen products, establishes safety standards, and trains hydrogen-related experts.

Chungju City, which is building various hydrogen-related infrastructures such as Hyundai Mobis’ Chungju Plant, Chungju Bio-Hydrogen Complex, Hydrogen Transportation Complex, and Hydrogen Bus Charging Station, attracts the Hydrogen Safety Technology Institute to produce, utilize, and distribute hydrogen, leading to full-cycle hydrogen It plans to build an ecosystem.

Congressman Lee Jong-bae said, “I usually have a lot of interest in fostering the hydrogen industry,” and said, “We will exert all our capabilities so that Chungju can move forward as a leader in the hydrogen industry.”

Mayor Cho said, “We are continuing an organic cooperation system with Congressman Lee Jong-bae for the development of the hydrogen industry in Chungju, such as securing current projects and government budgets,” and “We ask for your interest and support for attracting this hydrogen safety technology institute.” Chungju = Reporter Choi Byungsoo cbsmit@
