Chungbuk Free Economic Zone, selected for’Innovative Ecosystem Creation Project’ contest… Secured KRW 380 million in national expenditure

[기계신문] The Chungbuk Free Economic Zone Authority (hereinafter referred to as the Chungbuk Gyeongja Office) announced that two projects were selected as a result of the competition for the 2021 Free Economic Zone Innovation Ecosystem Creation Project by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and secured KRW 380 million in national expenditure.

The Free Economic Zone Innovation Ecosystem Creation Project is a project that supports customized support and growth according to the needs of companies in order to foster the Free Economic Zone as a global new industrial base, and is a new project launched by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy for the first time this year.

The innovation ecosystem creation project is promoted as an innovation cluster foundation project aimed at establishing a support system for industry, academia, research institutes in the Free Economic Zone, and a project to strengthen corporate business capabilities to solve the difficulties of actual companies.

The Chungbuk Gyeonggi Provincial Office selected one project (150 million won) in the innovation cluster foundation project and one project (230 million won) in the enterprise business capability enhancement project, and secured 380 million won in national expenditure.

The Chungbuk Gyeonggi Provincial Office is carrying out projects with a total project cost of 540 million won, matching local expenses of 60 million won and private expenses of 100 million won, and each of them is carried out by the Chungbuk Regional Project Evaluation Team and Chungbuk Techno Park.

In the innovation cluster foundation project, a regional industry-academia-research collaboration network is formed to establish a database of tenant companies, identify demand, discover and support regulations, provide information, and promote corporate support activities. Marketing, design improvement, certification acquisition, and technical advice are promoted.

An official from the Chungbuk Gyeonggi Provincial Office said, “Through the public offering project selected this time, we will systematize and upgrade the innovative ecosystem that is being formed around the core business sectors in the Chungbuk Free Economic Zone. I will try to drive the vitalization of the local economy and achieve 4% of the Chungbuk economy.”
