Chung Mong-gyu, the 54th president of the Korea Football Association, expressed his ambition to “finish the century of Korean football” through a greeting of the election on the 7th.
He said, “In a situation where we have to navigate through the fog in the aftermath of Corona 19, we have been given the position of the 54th president of the Korea Football Association. I will end the hundred years of Korean football during my new term of office for four years. In particular, we will create an environment where football dreamers can learn soccer without worrying about costs and enjoy soccer anytime, anywhere. I will try to establish a culture of’dreaming, enjoying and sharing’ through soccer.”
Earlier, he worked for the past eight years to build a new solid foundation for Korean football through two terms.
Projects that have been promoted for a long time, such as the expansion of infrastructure including the Korean division system and the Cheonan Football Comprehensive Center, are now beginning to produce tangible results.
He said, “The division system is a game changer of Korean adult football. Last year, the K3·K4 league, which is equivalent to the waist, was successfully launched. In the future, various policies to strengthen the league’s competitiveness will be implemented. Through this, we will establish itself as an adult stage ranging from elite to hobbyists.”
In addition, “The soccer center in Cheonan will become a new hub for Korean soccer. We will make it a home for all soccer players, including players, leaders, and referees, as well as national teams at all levels. In addition, he promised that we will raise the competitiveness of Korean football to the next level through various and high-quality education conducted at the Soccer Center.”
Meanwhile, the Korea Football Association recently announced a new brand identity and put’Fear-free advance’ as its core value.
He said, “It’s a slogan that is more appropriate for the crisis. I think we need the strength to confront and fight the crisis rather than hesitate. I will constantly try and challenge new things and lead Korean football. But it’s difficult on your own. This is possible only when the soccer family and soccer fans all help. I will go back to the beginning. And I will try to write the history of victory with all the football families during the given four years.”
