Chung Mong-gyu, the 54th president of the Korea Football Association, who confirmed the third election, said, “I will finish the hundred years of Korean football during the new term of office.” As it is the last four-year term, it emphasized the will to complete the policies that have been pursued.

Chairman Chung, who was the only candidate for the 54th presidential election of the Football Association, was announced as elected on the 7th after a screening by the Football Association’s Election Commission on the 6th, confirming the three consecutive days.

Chairman Chung will be officially inaugurated on the 27th after approval by the Korean Sports Association and will serve for the third term. The term of office is until January 2025.

Chairman Chung delivered a greeting of the election through the Football Association’s website, saying, “This year’s situation doesn’t look easy. The FIFA U-20 World Cup and the U-17 World Cup, which were scheduled to be held this year, were canceled, and the Qatar World Cup Asian Qualification “It is a situation where we cannot guarantee whether international competitions, including the Olympics and Olympics, will be held normally,” he said. “The burden is greater than ever, but on the one hand, I feel a great sense of duty.”

Chairman Chung said, “Through two tenures, we have been striving to build a new foundation for Korean football for the past 8 years,” and “The Korean division system and the long-term efforts such as the expansion of infrastructure including the Cheonan Soccer Center are now visible. “I started making results,” he emphasized.

In particular, he said, “We will create an environment where football dreamers can learn soccer without worrying about costs and enjoy soccer anytime, anywhere. Through soccer, we will try to establish a culture of’dreaming, enjoying and sharing’.”
