The new Seoul Southern District Prosecutor’s Office, Shim Jae-cheol, emphasized the’restrained prosecutor’s power’ as his inauguration. Ji-Gee Shim was a person who was selected as the’most close friend’ in the Ministry of Justice after passing through major positions during the inauguration of the former Minister of Justice Chu Mi-ae.

At the inauguration ceremony held on the 9th at the Seoul Southern District Prosecutor’s Office on the 9th, Sim said at the inauguration ceremony, “The real change of the prosecution is possible only when our thoughts and organizational culture change.” He added, “It is natural that investigations are essentially abstaining from human rights violations,” he added. “It should be stated that what we like and take restraint as a result can be perceived as an insult to human dignity and values.”

Prosecutor Shim emphasized the liquidation of the’Dust Eating Investigation’ and’Separate Case Investigation’. He said, “According to the principle of due process and prohibition of excess, it is necessary to accept the result of the investigation as it is and change the thinking in a direction that is satisfied,” he said. “There is a saying that excessive justice leads to cruelty and rather falsehood. We have to be satisfied with the procedural definition.”

Prosecutor Shim also pointed out that “excessive involvement of prosecutors’ power can lead to misunderstandings about political neutrality, and selective intervention may undermine political neutrality.” He added, “If the prosecutors themselves investigate themselves, they will have no choice but to become a biased party, and the investigation will soon lead to prosecution. Added.

Prosecutor Shim was appointed as the Chief of the Anti-Corruption and Power of the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office in the first greeting of Minister Chu. After that, he served as the chief prosecutor of the Ministry of Justice, and was transferred to the Southern District Prosecutor’s Office after Park Bum-gye was inaugurated as the new Justice Minister. It is reported that the Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol requested a replacement due to last year’s responsibility for the conflict with the Ministry of Justice.
