It is a proposal to unify the opposition by maintaining the party of the People’s Party, but participating in the competition stage prepared by the power of the people. Kim Jong-in, chairman of the People’s Power Emergency Response Committee, met with reporters on this day and said, “We cannot accept such a proposal unconditionally. We have no choice but to discuss unification after we have decided on our own candidates.” Chairman Kim also said on the call that day, “(Suggestion) sounds like fat. Our party goes as we are.”
Disagreement over’maintaining the party’
Representative Ahn held a press conference at the National Assembly this afternoon and said, “I hope that the first opposition party (the power of the people) will take the initiative and become a game maker for victory in the opposition.” You should be able to participate.”
He emphasized, referring to the case of Senator Bernie Sanders, who participated in the Democratic Party’s presidential election last year as an independent member, “The US Democratic Party has opened its doors to all candidates, even if they are not members.” Representative Ahn, who has rejected the demands of the people’s power to join the party, threw a card to participate in the people’s power contest on the premise of maintaining the party.
This is a method that has already been raised in the power of the people. Rep. Kwon Young-se of the 4th election suggested in December last year, “It would be more desirable if (CEO Ahn) was officially joined, but he should participate in the opposition party like Bernie Sanders (even if he did not join).” Rep. Kwon said, “We need to positively review the proposal.”
Ahn’s suggestion is based on the judgment that the “one-to-many” contest in which the majority of the people’s power and the candidate competes is advantageous. On the other hand, it is a position that it is advantageous to first select a party candidate and hold a one-on-one debate with Representative Ahn from the power of the people.
