Chu Miae’s last greeting… Kim Hak’s withdrawal and nuclear investigation team did not have’massacre’

Before Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae retired from his post as a minister, he was effectively the last prosecutor. Unlike last year’s personnel keynote, the general evaluation is that there was no so-called “massacre” personnel for the investigation team, which is conducting investigations sensitive to the regime.

The Ministry of Justice announced on the 21st that it will conduct personnel for 542 people, including 11 high-level prosecutors and 531 general prosecutors, on the 1st of next month.

Changes in the main investigative teams that conduct government investigations were not significant. Only one out of four prosecutors belonging to the Suwon District Prosecutor’s Office (Director Jeong-seop Lee) who investigated allegations of illegal emergency banning of illegal departure from the Ministry of Justice Kim Hak-eui was ordered as the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office. In the case of the Daejeon District Prosecutor’s Office (Director Sang-Hyeon Lee), who is investigating the suspicion of manipulating the economic feasibility of the Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant Unit 1, only two of the six review prosecutors moved. The replacement targets were also overseas dispatchers and model prosecutors. In the second part of the Central District Prosecutor’s Office (Director Kwon Sang-dae), which investigates allegations of involvement in the elections of the Ulsan Mayor of the Blue House, only one reviewer was targeted. The Central District Prosecutors’ Office of Economic Crime and Criminal Justice (Director Min-cheol Joo), who are investigating allegations of lobbying in relation to the Optimus incident, remained unchanged.

However, for the Central District Prosecutors’ Office Special Tribunal Team 2 (Director Young-cheol Kim), 5 out of the 8 members of the Prosecutor’s Office are transferred. The Special Tribunal Team 2 was established in September of last year to further investigate the suspicion of a merger with Samsung, including Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong.

Prosecutor Lee Gyu-won (36th Judicial Research and Training Institute), a key figure in the alleged illegal withdrawal of former Vice Minister Kim, retained the dispatched post of the Fair Trade Commission. This prosecutor is the party who requested an emergency withdrawal for former Vice Minister Kim at midnight on March 23, 2019, while the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office was being dispatched to the Past Photographic Investigation Team. He was dispatched to the Fair Trade Commission immediately after being a visiting scholar at Georgetown University Law School in the United States after the dispatch of the Great Sword investigation team. Therefore, there is a view that the prosecution is taking a typical’emperor greeting’ course both inside and outside the prosecution. This prosecutor was dispatched from Insa in August of last year and was not subject to this regular personnel.

Prosecutor Jeong Jin-woong (29th), Gwangju District Prosecutor’s Office, and Gwangju District Prosecutor’s Office, went to the site of a mobile phone simplicity and search for prosecutor Han Dong-hun, and prosecutor Jang Tae-hyung (39th term), who was also involved in the suspicion of the family of Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, moves to the Ansan District Office of Suwon District Prosecutors’ Office. The Ministry of Justice said that it applied the principle of preferential treatment to the criminal department and selected an excellent criminal prosecutor within the national prosecutors’ office. It is explained that the evaluation of the site, such as the excellent inspection recommended by the head of the agency and the model inspection selected by the great swordsman, was actually reflected in personnel. Following this stance, six prosecutors were newly assigned to the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office, the Ministry of Justice, and the Central District Prosecutors’ Office. Even within the prosecution, this person is evaluated as a relatively reasonable person. In January and August of last year, Minister Chu carried out the so-called’Suk-Yeol Yoon Line’ massacre twice, and did not reflect the opinion of President Yoon in the personnel of major investigation teams. A representative of the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office said, “In this greeting, we smoothly discussed with the Ministry of Justice.”

The personnel of the prosecution officers (high prosecutors’ level, high prosecutors’ level) are expected to take place after a candidate for Justice Minister Park Bum-gye is officially appointed through a hearing. An executive of the prosecution said, “If Minister Park takes office, we will be able to gauge the relationship between the Ministry of Justice and the prosecution through personnel at the level of the prosecutor and high prosecutors who will proceed after that.”
