[엑스포츠뉴스 부산, 김현세 기자] Choo Shin-soo (39, SSG Landers) recorded his first official appearance in the KBO League.

Choo Shin-soo started as the nominated batter for the second batter in the 2021 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League’s Lotte Giants held at Busan’s Sajik Baseball Stadium on the 22nd.

Roh Kyung-eun’s first ball left the strike zone. Choo Shin-soo waited. Then he reacted to the ball coming from high above the body, and it floated behind the head of the catcher, but it was a foul. Choo Shin-soo watched the strike coming from the lower side of the 3rd ball, and was confused for a moment with a ball coming similarly to the 5th ball even after choosing a 4th ball. Judging that he was in the strike zone, he tried to enter the Dougout, but the ball was judged and returned.

Choo Shin-soo picked the next 6 pitches and made an on-base walk. Roh-kyung made a walk on-base even though his ball was sharply inserted into the boundary of the strike zone. SSG then battered 3rd batter Choi Jung hitting a direct double hitting the wall that passed the height of left fielder, sending Choo Shin-soo to third, and the next batter, Jamie Romac, went ahead with a sacrificial fly in center field. Choo Shin-soo recorded the KBO official’s first goal after walking on base.

Earlier, on the 21st, Choo Shin-soo made his first start in a demonstration game with Changwon NC, and recorded two strikeouts and one floating ball during three at-bats. Director Kim Won-hyung sees it as an adaptation step. Shin-soo Choo scored not only the first on-base in the fourth at-bat, but also the first goal after that.
