Choo Shin-soo (39), who joined the professional baseball KBO League Shinsegae Group E-Mart (SK Wyverns), has entered self-isolation. He is expected to join the team training in Busan immediately after self-isolation.

On the 25th, an official from the club said, “Shin-soo Choo moved to Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do immediately after returning to Korea on the 24th.”

The reason for staying in Changwon, not Incheon, is to immediately join Choo Shin-soo. According to the known schedule, the athletes plan to digest the 2nd spring camp schedule starting with the Lotte Giants at the Sajik Stadium in Busan on the 9th of next month.

The club prepared accommodations in nearby Changwon City to minimize the confluence of Choo Shin-soo. Choo Shin-soo is expected to join the team in Busan on the 11th of next month as early as possible.

An official said, “Seonsudan will play a practice match with kt wiz at Ulsan Munsu Stadium on the 13th. It has not been decided whether Choo will join in Busan or Ulsan.”

Shin-soo Choo plans to use the training equipment provided by the club for two weeks to keep in shape. An official said, “The club provided various indoor equipment, KBO League data data, and video data.”

Choo Shin-soo’s quarantine life is accompanied by a strong support force. An employee of the club and former director of Galaxia SM, Song Jae-woo, who is in charge of domestic agent work, go into self-isolation together to help Shin-soo Choo adapt and train.

Meanwhile, Choo Shin-soo rejected the offer of eight major league teams and signed a contract with Shinsegae Group E-Mart, which acquired SK Wyverns, for an annual salary of 2.7 billion won. The Shinsegae Group E-Mart team will return to Incheon on the 6th of the following month after finishing the Seogwipo Spring Camp in Jeju Island on the 5th of next month. It is reported that they will take a break on the 7th and move to Busan on the afternoon of the 8th.
