Reporter Kim Hee-joon =’Chu Choo Train’ Choo Shin-soo (39, SSG Landers) will play the first KBO league match in a demonstration match.

According to an official from the SSG club, coach Won-hyung Kim said that ahead of the practice match with the Samsung Lions held at the Samsung Lions Park in Daegu on the 16th, Shin-soo Choo will not compete in the practice game with Samsung on the 16th and 17th.

In addition, coach Kim said that he is considering introducing Choo Shin-soo in this year’s first demonstration match against NC Dinos held at Changwon NC Park on the 20th.

Choo Shin-soo, who decided to go to the KBO League and signed a contract with SSG at the end of last month, entered Korea on February 25 and went through self-quarantine for 14 days in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province. After self-isolation, Choo Shin-soo had his first meeting with the athletes at Sajik Stadium in Busan on the 11th.

SSG played a practice match with KT Wiz in Ulsan on the 13th to 14th, and Shinsoo Choo started training in earnest from the 13th.

When Choo Shin-soo joined the squad, coach Kim said, “We will play in a practice match against Samsung on the 16th and 17th with a pinch hitting, so that we can play about 1 to 2 at-bats,” but he changed his mind. It was because Shin-soo Choo, who had not been ground training for about six months, needed more time.

Shin-soo Choo participated in a practice match against Samsung on the 16th to 17th and showed his willingness to adjust his sense of practice, but coach Kim decided not to rush due to concerns about injuries and the like.

SSG will train at Yeungnam University on the 18th, take a break on the 19th, and start the demonstration from the 20th.

If there is no problem with the physical condition during the training on the 18th, the NC match on the 20th is expected to be the debut stage for Choo Shin-soo’s actual KBO league match.
