Baseball player Choo Shin-soo presented an expensive watch to Lee Tae-yang, who gave up his uniform number.
Choo Shin-soo delivered an expensive gift he bought directly from the United States to Lee Tae-yang at a meeting after a practice match with the Lotte Giants of the KBO League in Busan on the 11th.
Choo Shin-soo gave Lee Tae-yang an expensive watch because of his uniform number. It is known that Lee Taeyang gave way to Choo Shin-soo as a sign of gratitude by giving way to No. 17, which he was wearing.
Choo Shin-soo wore a uniform number 17 from Busan High School and walked on the ground. In the U.S. minor league, he wore various numbers such as 54, 61, and 16, but in the major league, he regained number 17.
Shin-soo Choo said, “There is nothing in the world for granted, and you have to express thank you for receiving it. In the United States, there is always a gift to the player who gave up the number,” he said. “It is a gift prepared from the United States and I am still grateful.”
In response, Lee Taeyang said, “There was no concession for giving too much gift. I don’t know if it’s okay to receive an expensive gift.”
The watch that Choo Shin-soo presented to Lee Tae-yang is a product of the Swiss luxury watch brand’Roger De V’and is known as an’Excalibur’ model that costs about 21 million won. Choo Shin-soo is also the ambassador for the brand.
Meanwhile, Choo Shin-soo signed a contract with Shinsegae Group for an annual salary of 2.7 billion won on the 24th of last month and joined SSG. It has been 14 years since the KBO debut.
