As actor Jo Jae-hyun (56)’s’Me Too Legal Dispute’ ended in three years, attention is also being paid to Cho Jae-hyun’s move.
As Mr. A, who filed a lawsuit for damages while alleging sexual assault, gave up the appeal, Jae-Hyun Cho actually won the’Me Too lawsuit’.
The Seoul Central District Court announced on the 26th that Mr. A did not appeal until the two-week appeal period passed after the ruling, and that the court judgment was confirmed.
Earlier, Mr. A filed a lawsuit for damages of 300 million won in July 2018: He was sexually assaulted by Cho Jae-hyun in 2004 when he was 17 years old.
After that, the court decided to compulsory mediation, but both sides filed an objection and the formal trial proceeded again.
Including this incident, Cho Jae-hyun has been accused of sexual assault through the Me Too movement and has completely suspended entertainment activities.
At the time, through a legal representative, he said, “I have sincerely apologized to those who have been affected by me, and I have laid down everything and atone for it.
In a recent call with Maeil Business Daily Star Today, Cho Jae-hyun’s lawyer Park Heon-hong said, “I know it is still being chipped in the province. If I had come to Seoul, I would have contacted me at least once, but there is no contact.”
Regarding the change in behavior according to the legal judgment, “I don’t know that either. There will be no change as much as I said to put down all my activities and have time to self-sufficiency. However, the person’s mind is unknown.”
Cho Jae-hyun has resigned from acting as an actor, as well as a professorship at Kyungsung University, as well as the chairmanship of the DMZ Documentary Film Festival, which he led for 9 years. His Daehakro Mecca Suhyeon Company was closed shortly after the’Me Too’ incident, and Suhyeon Theater and Daemyung Cultural Factory changed the signboard to Yes24 Stage.
