A famous stand-up comedian in China is being criticized for making demeaning women.

This advertisement aroused anger among Chinese netizens.

Netizens poured out criticism such as, “Is it meaningless to all the efforts of a woman working and meeting at work all night?” “It’s insulting”, “Lying down at work in this underwear and telling me how to win.”

As the controversy spread, Yubra deleted all related advertising posts and apologized to Weibo.

Yubra said, “Our original intention is to help women overcome fatigue in work and daily life because our products are so comfortable,” he said. “We will pay more attention to the promotion video in the future.”

Lidan also posted an apology to Weibo the next day. He bowed his head, saying, “I reflect on inappropriate expressions,” and “I will respect the position of women more in the future.”

Lidan is regarded as a person who spread a stand-up comedy that was not well known to the Chinese public at the time by co-production of a show called Lost and Rock to promote stand-up comedy culture with Tencent Penguin Pictures in 2017.
