Hong Kong media reported that China will push for Taiwan’liberation’ by 2027. It is analyzed that the decision of the 5th plenary session of the 19th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party held last year to “realize the goal of 100 years of striving for the military in 2027” actually included the end of the law of the Republic of China, which governs Taiwan. Taiwan’s’liberation’ is interpreted with the intention of making Taiwan surrender itself through military threats as well as unification by force.
Hong Kong-based Chinese political expert Sun Jaye (孫嘉業), in an article in Hong Kong Myungbo (明報) on the 8th, speculated that China had prepared a timetable for Taiwan reunification in 2027. He inferred the contents of the’Gungun 100 Year Struggle Goal’, which has been thoroughly veiled so far, from the change in the name of the Chinese army. In other words, the current official name of the Chinese military is’Chinese People’s Liberation Army’, but it was once renamed as’National Defense Force’ in the early 1950s, when the country was founded. At the time, someone pointed out that Taiwan had not been liberated and that the Liberation Army had not yet fulfilled its historical mission. As this claim was accepted, the name returned to’Liberation Army’, and it is explained that it is now.

In addition, the goal of Nanchang Ki-ui (南昌起義), which triggered the creation of the Chinese Communist Party’s armed forces, the Red Army, was to overthrow the rule of the Kuomintang. For this reason, the goal of the 100-year Gungun in 2027 can also be seen as the end of the law of the Republic of China.
Foreign Minister Wang Yi, held on the 7th, at a press conference unprecedentedly emphasized his will to unify Taiwan. Director Wang Yi said, “Both sides of the Taiwan Strait must be unified and inevitably unified,” he said. “The new government of the United States should thoroughly change the dangerous method of’crossing the line’ and’playing with fire’ of the former government.”
China is concentrating on solving the Hong Kong issue with confidence after the Biden government’s inauguration and repeatedly proclaiming the’One China’ policy. Although the Taiwanese Democratic Party’s government of Tsai Ing-wen recently reorganized its security campaign to a moderate group and appealed for the recovery of bilateral relations, China replaced the pineapple import ban instead. This is evidence that China has already ended its anticipation for Taiwan, Sun Jaye pointed out. In accordance with this policy, China has replaced the propaganda slogan from the existing’peaceful unification’ to’bilateral peace development’ and’unification journey’.
Instead, China is concentrating on reorganizing the Hong Kong election system while preventing Taiwan from becoming an issue at both meetings (political associations and NPCs), which are the regular parliamentary meetings this year. This is also closely related to the 100th anniversary ceremony of the founding of the Communist Party of China, scheduled for July 1 this year. In other words, the commemoration ceremony for returning to Hong Kong in 1997 was held on July 1, coinciding with the anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party. Since then, in the 2000s, anti-China protests took place in Hong Kong every July 1, and the communist party’s founding ceremony held in Beijing has ceased to be noticed. This is why the Chinese leadership decided to fundamentally solve the Hong Kong issue this year. On the 8th, the chairman of Jeonin University’s Jeonin University Chairman Li Jansu announced on July 1 that a speed battle to complete the reorganization of the pre-election system was announced, saying, “We will restore order in Hong Kong with a legal combination punch.”
