‘Chicken’ is the most preferred Korean food for foreigners, and the worst?

Six out of ten foreigners know Korean food, and Kimchi is the food they eat most often.

Also,’chicken’ was chosen as the most preferred Korean food.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced on the 7th that as a result of an online survey of local residents in 16 major overseas cities from August to September last year, 57.4% of them answered that they “know Korean food”.

The awareness of Korean food is on the rise every year. At the time of the survey in 2018, it was 54.0%, but last year it increased to 57.4%.

Satisfaction with Korean food was 81.3%, similar to that of the previous year (81.2%).

Regarding the image of Korean food, the response was’spicy’,’unconventional and exotic’,’tasteful’,’popular’, and’a variety of side dishes’.

In a survey of people with experience of eating Korean food, kimchi was the most common Korean food at 33.6%.

This was followed by’bibimbap’ (27.8%) and’Korean-style chicken’ (26.9%).

Chicken` (13.3%) outperformed `Kimchi` (11.9%). ‘Bibimbap’ (10.3%) was also in third place.

As for Korean food that they don’t prefer, 14.1% answered’Our liquor’ such as soju.
