As the short-distance shopping market expands due to Corona 19, convenience stores are responding rapidly day by day. Convenience store products have been delivered to the front of the house or sales items have been increased with beauty products and luxury goods, and products from external companies have recently been added to the delivery list. Convenience stores spread across the country are increasingly transforming into contact points for various life services.

GS Retail, which operates GS25, announced on the 17th that it has signed a partnership agreement with BBQ and Woori Neighborhood Delivery (Wooden Deal) delivery service. Woodill is a walking delivery service. Because it is delivered on foot, anyone without a motorcycle license can participate as a delivery driver by downloading the Woodil application (app).

Originally, Woodil was a form that a registered walking delivery driver would bring when a consumer ordered GS25 products to order food delivery app Yogiyo or Kakao. In the future, we will also take orders for BBQ. It is expanding on foot delivery to the area of’third party logistics’ rather than delivery of own products.

Both companies plan to deliver delivery to over 1,800 stores nationwide by the end of the year, starting with 20 BBQ stores in major cities at the end of this month. Considering that it is a local walking delivery platform, the orderer will only connect orders for short-distance delivery within 700m of the BBQ store.

Woodill has recruited more than 60,000 people as delivery drivers in the last 7 months since its launch. GS Retail explained that it has already exceeded the target of 50,000 by the end of this year and has accelerated the expansion of external alliances. By the end of this year, it is expected that about 100,000 people will be delivered to Woodil.
